Snowed In {What I'm Eating}

It's been a long time since I did a What I'm Eating Wednesday. Too long! And with this blizzard upon us (seriously, we are in the middle of a blizzard as I type this), what can be better than a hot bowl of yummy home made soup?

And this one is ridiculously easy to to put together. With only five main ingredients, it an easy weeknight or snow day meal that you can prepare and go play in fluffy white stuff while it simmers down. Trust me, your kids, partner, and belly will ALL thank you when you're done.

Time to Get Real {Coming Clean}

There's something about my life that I haven't really brought to this blog: I had breast cancer.

I am not ashamed that I had breast cancer.

I am not upset that I had breast cancer.

I was not trying to hide having breast cancer.

But I did want to keep the topics I post here pretty relevant to the theme.

Well, it's a new year and I find that I have much more to talk about than just design and parties. I have feelings that range from elation to frustration, joy to pain, and everything in between. There are days when I am on it, and my head can work the way I'd like it to without my heart jumping in front and stopping me in my tracks. And there are plenty of days when that is not the case at all.

Up until now, I have kept my cancer life away from my design life as much as possible. But it's time I accept that those two things intertwine much more than you would think. I'ts time to GET REAL! So, my plan is to start writing from the heart. To keep my entire life: health, family, and business - all in once place. I hope you'll take the journey with me.

Giving Tree {Holidays}

We got the tallest Christmas Tree I've ever had this year. This weekend, we finally got around to decorating it. Doobie was pretty tuckered out by the time all of the ornaments were hung.
